“Everything in my home and on the property is covered under my homeowners insurance policy, right?”

When you purchase homeowners insurance a lot of times you’re getting it because a mortgage company or realtor or family member is telling you you have to have it and you really don’t give it much thought. Until something happens.

“I thought because my vehicle was parked in the garage that the homeowners insurance would cover it for damage?”

“I thought I had coverage for sewer backup and sump pump failure?”

Dwelling Coverage
our homeowner policies offer all risk coverages on your dwelling. All homeowners contain a coinsurance clause, which means your dwelling must be insured at replacement cost, not the market value. We personally inspect all homes and provide you with a copy of the Boeckh residential building valuation system replacement cost figures. Inflation guard and guaranteed replacement cost protection are just a few of the additional coverages that can be included.

Other Structures
provides coverage for your detached garage, sheds, fences, etc. Usually 10% of your dwelling coverage. Additional coverage can be purchased to properly insure all of the buildings on your property.

Personal Property
our homeowner policies include replacement cost protection for your personal property. This coverage is written at 75% of your dwelling coverage. Certain items should be scheduled for an additional premium such as: jewelry, furs, fine arts, cameras, computers, guns, silver, stamp and coin collections.

Loss of Use
if your home or apartment is not livable due to a covered loss, this coverage provides the cost of any additional living expenses you incur.

Personal Liability
covers you and your family against legal liability for bodily injury and property damage to others arising out of personal activities both on and off your premises.

Medical Payments to Others
covers medical expense reimbursement to guests and residence employees when injured on your premises. (does not apply to members of your household).

Deductible
the amount you are responsible in the event of a loss (not including liability losses). Most companies base deductible is $1000. The higher your deductible, the lower your premium.

Earthquake Coverage
some insurance contracts automatically include earthquake coverage with a separate 5% deductible. If your contract does not include this coverage, we can add for an additional fee.
